Usually every year students getting free from their Intermediate exams, starts preparations for their MCAT test. MCAT test is compulsory entry test to pass for the admission in any medical college/university or institute. Medical College Admission Test is approved by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council. All the students seeking admissions in Medical college/university should have to appear in MCAT.
University of Health Sciences (UHS) is an authoritative body for conducting MCAT tests in Punjab. The Provincial governments make arrangements for conducting the central entry test to for the admission in the medical institutes (both private and public) in the respective provinces. The entry test for getting admission in the medical and dental institutes in Islamabad would be conducted under the Ministry of Health.
Every year lots of students appear in MCA tests for getting admission in Medical and dental colleges/universities of Pakistan. Syllabus of MCAT is based on the subjects from FSc pre medical or equivalent to it. Generally candidates who have passed and appeared in the FSc, BSc exams are eligible for applying MCAT test.
Date sheet for MCAT is announced soon after the intermediate exams and test held after the inter result declaration. Every year MCAT held in August. Last year in 2011, UHS conducted the test on September 13 and announced MCAT result on September 20 in Punjab. Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education BISE Lahore and other boards of Punjab declared their inter result on September 10, 2011.
